Mia Phillips

Mia likes to ride bikes, a lot!  She’s been married for 26 years (to the same guy).  They have 2 grown daughters, 2 dogs, a very rare hellcat, and live in Crested Butte, Colorado.   As the Administration Office Manager for Crested Butte Mountain Resort, she’s responsible for administrating important stuff.  One of the perks of working for a resort is she gets to ride her bike or ski daily on her lunch breaks.

Mia has been riding bikes since before she has memories.  She was a runner and triathlete for several years, but it was adventure racing that brought her to the realization that mountain biking was the only sport that mattered.  She raced XC and DH for several years in the midwest and managed some minor successes and a few podiums before turning her attention to Endurance racing (so NOT Enduro) and finished several Leadville 100s, and quite a few 6, 12 and 24 hour races.

In 2013, because she loves mountain biking so much and so she could ride her bike more, she selfishly forced her family to move to Crested Butte, where sometimes “bike season” is only 4 months long.  But when the weather is good, she enjoys riding some of the most epic singletrack in the country right from her front door!

Mia has been a VIDA Ambassador since 2015 and loves to encourage women to get on bikes!  Actually, she loves to encourage everyone to get on a bike.  When the opportunity presented itself to manage the Ambassador program and work with Sarah and Rachel, she jumped at the opportunity.

She is looking forward to the VIDA MTB Series 2017 season, doing more splits in the middle of mountain town streets, inspiring confidence and creating riders for life!
